The new generation of SAR9 SOCOM brings all the features you would expect with an adaptable modern pistol and improves on them. Starting from the inside out this pistol has a newer fire control mechanism which help keep it reliable and provides that nice trigger. The pistol is made with a fiber-reinforced polymer frame that lends to a strong design while saving weight. the frame is also extremely customizable with the use of interchangeable of side and back panels. The pistol comes with a nice hammer forged steel barrel that allows for a good shooting option. At the end of the barrel is threaded for adding a NFA item or compensator. The barrel rides in an ported optics ready slide that is precut for micro style optics and the cut sits low enough that the shooter can easily co witness the iron sights giving a precise aiming point without giving up rigidity. The SAR 9 Gen 3 SoCom pistol has been a pleasant surprise. The grip is very HK like and comfortable while the slide is "Clockish"... not surprising because the fire control system is pure Glock with one exception; the trigger. Somehow SAR has managed to put a sweet and smooth 4 pound t trigger on this pistol that is easy to control. Rated for NATO cartridges, the recoil spring is stiff but function has been 100% through more than 100 rounds. The night sights are excellent and co-witness through an optical sight. Mounting a red dot sight is easy. This is a lot of pistol for the money and I'm 100% satisfied with mine. The attached target was shot at 25 yards while standing using two hands.
