Chinese Type 56 SKS Semi-Auto Rifle by Jianshe Arsenal with Bringback Papers 7.62×39, 20” barrel with a very good plus bore that shows a minor pit or two. The metal surfaces of this ”Triangle 26” marked rifle are an overall dull brown patina with scattered light to moderate pitting, a spot of green paint at rear of triggerguard, heavy oxidation on both buttplate and the rear sling hardware. The hardwood stock rates about very good with a plug repair on the right side of butt, some white writing on right side of butt that appears to read ”THANH HUNG”, a couple chips, a large spot of red paint on pistolgrip, some added white and red paint on inside of handguard, scattered dings and handling marks. All serialized parts are matching to the receiver and there are no import markings on this rifle. This rifle includes four DoD documents listing this rifle by serial number and naming a Private First Class Raymond Cadenan of the 194th Military Police as being the soldier who brought it back. There appears to be a cleaning rod present in the butt but the door trap is jammed and a rudimentary canvas sling is included that is likely original to the gun. Documented Vietnam bringback firearms are scarce and this rifle will make a great addition to any military collection.
