Description

.44 caliber, 8" barrel "2nd Generation" Colt 1860 Revolver. Blued metal finish with casehardened, hammer, frame, lever, and brass triggerguard with silver front sight and one-piece oiled walnut grips. Revolver features a roll engraved cylinder showing Ormsby's naval scene. Revolver shows period-correct (for 1860) single-line Colt New York address to top of barrel - see pictures. Recoil shield is cut and features mounting screws for a shoulder stock, no stock is included. Revolver comes in black cardboard foam lined box used for Colt's second generation black powder reissues. Includes original manual and warranty card.

Condition is Very Good. Bore is lightly minty but with strong rifling throughout. Metal finish is primarily excellent but shows some condition issues. Spot of oxidation on seam beneath hammer spur. A but of tarnish and oxidation along brass triggerguard and gripstraps is present. Some oxidation within cutout to base of rear gripstrap for stock. Cylinder shows a faint turn ring. Grips do not show handling wear but show a dark discoloration to left side near frame. Box has some fraying of edges with yellowing to internal liner. Items included in case show yellowing from age but are in excellent condition otherwise.
