I don't want to give anything that isn't perfect a five-star rating. I would like to give this one a four and a half star. The Springfield prodigy in coyote brown is incredibly handsome looking. The chunk port really helps this gun shoot flat. The fit and finish on the gun I would rate a 8 out of 10. The slide to frame fit is just a hair looser than I prefer and looser than most examples I saw. This is the problem with mail order guns. You may get one that's looser than most. The downside to this gun is the slide lock release and the optic fitment. I shouldn't have to spend this kind of money on a gun and have to spend another $100 plus on a plate for an optic. When I bought my XDM 10 mm, you were allowed to call in to Springfield and get one plate for free so that you could tell them what cut you want. I am playing around with Optics right now. There are some Optics that are cut for the doctor footprint . I would rather find one of those that works for me then add another $100 to finding a different optic . I wish that Springfield included some screws with that optic plate. The slide release lever is beautifully machined into the frame, but it is pretty dang small. I found a Wilson Combat on Optics Planet for $30 and it will be here in a few days. Gun Prime was the best price I found and they shipped it very fast. I was pleasantly surprised in my dealings with them and would recommend them for your next purchase.
