The Springfield Armory EMP Compact Lightweight takes the classic 1911 design and scales it around the 9mm cartridge for a smaller, lighter package. This PI9208L model features a 3-inch match-grade stainless steel bull barrel, lightweight aluminum-alloy frame, black finish, and Springfield's attractive thin-line Crossed Cannons Cocobolo wood grips. Springfield lists the pistol at just 27 ounces with an overall length of 6.6 inches.

This EMP is equipped with a fiber-optic front sight, low-profile combat rear sight, extended beavertail grip safety, ambidextrous thumb safety, skeletonized trigger, and dual captive recoil spring system. The single-action 1911-style controls and compact dimensions make the EMP a desirable choice for shooters wanting traditional styling and handling in a more compact 9mm platform.
