Description
The Walther P38K is one of the rarest and most sought-after variants of the legendary P38 design. The “K” designation stands for Kurz (short), referring to its distinctive factory snub-nose barrel, produced in very limited numbers for specialized police and security roles rather than general military issue.
Chambered in 9mm Luger, this P38K retains the classic Walther double-action/single-action system with decocker, combined with a dramatically shortened barrel that gives it a unique profile and excellent balance. Unlike cut-down or modified examples, true P38K pistols were factory-produced, making originality critical—and highly collectible.
This example presents as a correct P38K with proper markings, original-style black grips, and intact controls. Its compact dimensions, historical background, and limited production numbers place it firmly in the upper tier of German WWII–era and post-war Walther collectibles.
