Description
This U.S. Inland M1 Carbine is a World War II-era semi-automatic rifle chambered in .30 Carbine. Serial number 431364 is paired with an Inland barrel dated 6-43, placing the barrel’s production in June 1943. The rifle retains the compact, lightweight configuration that made the M1 Carbine one of the most recognizable American military arms of the 20th century.
The carbine is configured with an 18-inch barrel, bayonet lug, round bolt, flip-style safety, four-rivet handguard, low-wood stock with oval sling cut, protected blade front sight, and an adjustable rear sight marked “I.R. CO.” It is accompanied by an olive-drab woven sling, detachable box magazine, and two U.S.-marked military-style soft carrying cases.
Condition is good as arsenal reworked. The metal shows scattered oxidation, with heavier oxidation visible on portions of the barrel and silvering along exposed edges. The walnut stock and handguard display scattered handling marks, scratches, and impressions, including a more substantial impact mark on the right side. The bore is very good overall with moderate frosting, and the action is reported to operate properly.
