The Kel-tec products all seem a bit frail compared to conventional forearms. But the innovation in design and function is truly inspiring. This compact carbine is fantastic as it can't weigh much more than 3.1/2 lbs., yet has a capacity of 30 rounds, and a practical range of at least 200 yds. It's is adequately accurate and quite reliable given it's preference for ammo brand. As expected rim-fire anything is a bit picky about what it likes. These seem to prefer 40-45 gr. ammo. Reading the manual and understanding how to load the magazine is paramount. I find it interesting how the colors can bear much different market costs. A basic black can be had for about $100 less than a unique and obviously desirable color. The added fact that it uses the same magazines as the PMR-30 handgun is a bonus. The system is basically a "delayed' blow-back system that while simple, is by necessity, a special design ti mitigate the higher pressures of the .22 WMR in a semi-auto platform. Another interesting and innovative plastic wonder from Kel-tec.
